Datacrons are rather unique items that you can find throughout the entire game of Star Wars the Old Republic. They are hidden in random spots on each planet in the known galaxy.

Finding them usually provides you with a Matrix Shard and grants you a bonus (permanent bonus) to certain stats which include but are not limited to:
- Aim
- Presence
- Willpower
- Endurance
- Cunning
- Strength
- And Others
There are well over 70 of these items to be found. When you find one you’ll know because they have a distinct appearance. They are a cube in shape and generally glow. Datacrons glow a variety of different colors including: Green, Blue, Yellow and Red. After collecting several Matrix Shards from different colored datacrons you can combine them to add bonus stats to new mods that you create.
Overall, datacrons are very useful which is why you should try and seek them out. They are found on all planets:

- Blamorra
- Belsavis
- Corellia
- Coruscant
- Dromund Kaas
- Hoth
- Hutta
- Ilum
- Korriban
- Nar Shaddaa
- Ord Mantell
- Quesh
- Republic Fleet (yes datacrons can be found places other than planets)
- Taris
- Tatooine
- Tython
- Voss
NOTE: Some datacron locations on certain planets will be different depending on whether you play for the Republic or for the Empire.
